No user accounts

Blinking Chorus does not have user accounts, usernames, or profiles. You don't sign up, log in, or provide any identifying information. Everything you post is anonymous by design.

What we store

When you post a blink, we store: the text of your blink, the tag you chose (if any), the city you selected (if any), and the time you posted. We store an anonymous session token in your browser to handle rate limiting. This token is a random string — it is not linked to your identity.

Session tokens

To prevent abuse, we generate an anonymous session token in your browser. This token is used for rate limiting only. Your IP address is hashed (one-way) and stored with the token. We cannot reverse the hash to find your IP. The token expires after 30 days.

What we don't do

We don't use cookies for tracking. We don't have analytics or advertising. We don't build profiles on users. We don't sell or share data with third parties. We don't store your IP address in plain text.

Content moderation

Every blink is checked by automated moderation before publication. The text is sent to OpenAI's moderation API. No personal data is sent — only the 200-character text. Moderation decisions are not linked to session tokens or IP hashes.

Your rights

You can delete any blink you post within 24 hours using the delete token you receive after posting. After 24 hours, blinks cannot be individually deleted but may be removed if they violate our guidelines. Since we don't have user accounts, there is no "your data" to export — everything you post is anonymous.
